History

The New Bloods were not kin to neither the Highlander King nor his eight Companions, they were common men who rose to power not through ancient magic or blood ties but through invention and monetary gain. House Brewster is a prime example of this, as they were initially a family of merchants and Artificers dedicated to a single craft: making alcohol. They started with beer, then expanded into wine, and then to harder and stronger spirits. From there they began experimenting with infusions of tea and herbs, began moving away from alcohol into more experimental potions of healing and other such properties. By the time they were noticed by the nobility of the Old Bloods, they were master Alchemists and the first of the New Blood families that ascended to a political power. Their heraldry is a green potion bottle with red vapors coming out of the top on a gray background.    They, along with the other later New Blood families, never truly saw eye to eye. Their lineage was nearly as impressive or noble, so they had no Knights or Knightly Orders at their beck and call but only adventurers, mercenaries, and any other employees they had o payroll. For the New Bloods, like House Brewster, were more like guilds than noble houses. So when the time of the Great Rebellion came, they used their Alchemical techniques and knowledge aid the other three families in the crafting of their finest and most devastating invention: The Warforged. They combined with the Holy Order of the Light, their victory was well assured and within a century the war was over and the Freelands were their's for the taking.   Today, almost every city with an alchemy shop or healers shop or even a tavern carries a House Brewster potion or drink of some sort, true homebrews still exist but everyone knows who or what a House Brewster potion is and know that by name alone it is of the highest quality and costs the most coin.
