Brightlescia (BRIGHT-lay-SEE-uh)
Brightlescia is a grade of and harder than standard in-world steel. It is the strongest metal currently available, but remains uncommon, expensive, and confined to small-scale production while the industry rebuilds itself after the War of the Six.
History & Usage
History
Devatska Acosaphaura had several contributions to the world of metallurgy, but the most significant was perhaps helping stabilize brightlescia production. Previously, flaws in its composition and inadequate forge conditions led it to be softer or more brittle when manufacturing more than one to five ingots, which Devatska corrected. Now, most specially-made forges can produce three times as many ingots.
Everyday use
Commissioned weaponry or weaponry hardware (as with the Acosaphaura Firearms), locks and keys, medical tools and prosthetic components, and other small-batch utility items where durability is required.

Although resistant to rust, it tends to develop a harmless dark patina if not polished occasionally or stored in a dry, sealed container.
