Hand of the Herald, The

The Hand of the Herald is both the first and largest printing press in Icalar, based in Korzhûn, and the news sheet produced locally of the same name. It was founded primarily by the Ustrarian Gild of Craftsmen in 579AC and both have contributed since to Ustraria's reputation as a 'land of ideas'.   Although other news sheets and presses have since appeared, the Hand of the Herald is the largest and most well-funded by far, and was one of only a few to survive funding cut-backs from the War of the Six. The news sheet itself has a reputation for solid journalism and even finds readership in cosmopolitan areas outside of the country, while the press is kept busy with as many external printing contracts as local ones. It also offers a satellite, smaller press in Iqith that has recently been delegated to smaller print runs, such as individual requested copies of the Bloodsinger Codex.

Public Agenda

Unbiased public news publishing and the publishing of nonfiction and fiction.

Assets

Ten presses in Korzhûn, with a further (smaller) two in Iqith. Numerous local distribution affiliates and several foreign.

Foreign Relations

Generally permitted reading outside of Ustraria, though it was less welcomed during wartime (when it could be reasonably obtained) in Unenshuut in particular. What little readership exists in Balaqalneyis, Seyis-Gol, and to an extent Kiva find more sceptics of its content, finding it biased at worst and irrelevant at best.
