Sabeka

The Sabeka are a large but scattered Nae'Cthosai ethnic group. Historically, the group was composed of disparate nomadic families, most of which began to settle in the Age of Reformation.   Key Settlements: Jarilas    Though like all nae'cthosai their ears tended to be longer than humans', their shapes varied; however, recognizable traits include double-lobes, three- or four-point or fan-shaped (like sunbark leaves).

Mother Tongues: Luk'Eishar, Bel'Eishar Adopted: Mesik    The Sabeka were the first of the nae'cthosai to begin learning and adopting Mesik.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Common to all Sabeka regardless of locale is their observance of the Jhesere Cuus, a fertility festival, on the 1st Day of the Season of Ripening. Bonfires and feasts are common features; sphegon are often eaten in abundance. Here fertility is meant both in a personal and broader context.
