The Usurper
The Usurper is a mysterious figure that has come up a couple of times in Namina's quest to restore the Cycle. He seems to be connected to the Harandil Circus somehow.
The Usurper, and whoever he is supposed to Usurp, is mentioned in the first half of the prophecy that Namina received from her deity. It would appear as though the person being usurped must be Vsevolodrik.
A God's Guidance
More information was also provided by the Chittering Spirit. Notably, Namina was able to see the path the Harandil Circus would take to get the Usurper onto a throne made of stone. She was also able to see that the Usurper's appearance along with some Cursed Knowledge which shines some light on the above stanzas.
"The usurper is one known as Anguish, and his Black Banner has torn open holes into the material plane. He was once a jester until he rose to power. He has armies, jesters, and power at his disposal. He has taken control of what should belong only to the ancient darkness of my creator."
Considering the connections made to Snow Elves, the Stone Throne seen by Namina, and its apparent involvement with jesters...it is possible that this Usurper is hoping to take power from Vsevolodrik.
On Daulok 22, 308, Hysteria had a vision. They described their vision given to them by the Whydigo after the Spiritual Travelers were attacked by another Jester. A vision of their Patron chained to a wall and being tortured by someone with a mask that had three horns. The description seemed to match what Croak had given regarding the person that tricked and tortured him, and Kaswink made this connection while also positing that "Maybe the Usurper did to your Patron what he did to Croak. Chained Him up, took His place, left a body double under His control." Perhaps this "Usurper" is no more than a piece of The Oni.
A Jester by the name of Fatigue attacked the Spiritual Travelers shortly before The Oni began his onslaught against them. This Jester's mission was apparently to slow them down, and the interrogation that followed after the encounter revealed that Hysteria has been cast out by the supposed "Patron" that this Jester follows. Though, Hysteria disagrees that it is the Patron that they knew, and eventually received an invitation to see "the Patron". Kaswink reminded them that they already have a map to where the elves were going, and Fatigue was killed shortly after that. This encounter led to Hysteria having a new drive to travel to the Northwest and find this Usurper and their Patron. They very nearly left that night, but the group managed to talk them out of it. After the encounter with The Oni, the Chittering Spirit appeared along with a massive cloud of darkness. This spirit had previously mentioned that the Usurper needs to be defeated in order for the Cycle to be restored, and it instructed these travelers to travel to the center of this spiraling darkness in the northwest to find its creator. Apparently its creator is trapped beneath His throne which is likely currently being sat on by this Usurper.
On Daulok 31, 308 Anguish was at long last confronted by the Spiritual Travelers. The fight was brutal and nearly deadly for at least Agave, but Anguish was eventually defeated. His body, however, was merely fodder for yet another convoluted plan and ritual performed by The Oni. The Oni, Risen by Anguish, continued to fight these travelers until he too was defeated yet again. Him and the Spiraling Dark both were dragged deep into the ground shortly after being vanquished.
Consumed by guilt, He must not be freed
Lost, dwelling on sins that He cannot forgive
Half cries out again for Her love is lost
This time curled up in Anguish, in Despair, Fatigued
By the Hope that is drowned, Her tears, like ink and oil
Will stain the rays of sunlight. As She hides, frightened and reckless, while the world around Her ends
No more cycles, no ticking from the clock
No more death, or life, or rot
An end to a bitter tale, no longer tainted by Hope
An end to a ceaseless spiral, and to His darkness
Ever-chased by Her light. Uncover His secrets, hidden before Time could see
Fight, or free, those that are devoted to His will,
Remind them of the Hope they once had, of dreams forgotten
It is more than Rot that corrupts, for knowledge is truly rotten
The Usurper will wear His crown, but bear not His guilt
And the missing pieces will be bathed in light
Lost, dwelling on sins that He cannot forgive
Half cries out again for Her love is lost
This time curled up in Anguish, in Despair, Fatigued
By the Hope that is drowned, Her tears, like ink and oil

Physical Description
Body Features
The Usurper has the appearance of a "younger" elf with long pale-silver hair, pale skin and grey-blue eyes.
He holds a greatsword, a black banner and a black crown.
Noteably, the appearance of this Usurper was compared to The Mysterious King that the Spiritual Travelers saw in The Maze. This elf was significantly younger, suggesting he is a different person and likely that the King in the Maze is the one being Usurped.
