Haguur

Haguur (a.k.a. The Hag Slayer)

Haguur is an intimidating mountain of an orc covered with scars from a long life of fighting. He had been a roving bandit for many years before he was turned to mercenary work. After one particularly gnarly drunken bar fight, however, he was turned out of the town of Splittend and onto the road late at night. It was on these roads he was kidnapped by an old rival bandit clan. As a humiliation, he was sold into slavery at Greger's Grotto.   In the grotto, Haguur became a well regarded and feared gladiator, one of the few the guards were wary of, and one of the few that held the respect of the Greger family.   During the Escape from the Grotto, Haguur assisted in fighting through the guards, and, ultimately, killed two of the Sea Hags that had been conspiring with Godrick Greger as the rest of the prisoners fled.

History

Haguur and Festan met in the pits of the Grotto. They fought regularly in the arena, but were never charged with killing one another. Though Haguur boasts otherwise, he is fairly certain the aloof dark elf would have been able to kill him. They have a wary regard for each other, neither displaying much kindness, though Haguur does respect Festan's acumen as a fighter. Festan does not return this respect.

Proud, violent, and temperamental, Haguur was once one of the most feared bandits trolling the plains of Cetan. In the Grotto, he was a crowd favorite because of his viciousness and rage, but with the arrival of Festan and the Dungeon Bois, his superiority has begun slipping. What will the proud orc do now, as he must survive in the wilderness and start a new life with the very people he fought with and terrorized in the pits?

Description

Haguur is a wild and reckless warrior, proud and rambunctious and violent. He will go to any length to protect his pride and reputation.

Rage: On Haguur's turn, he can enter a rage as a bonus action. While raging, he gains the following benefits, as long as he isn't wearing heavy armor.

  • He has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saves.
  • When he makes a melee weapon attack using Strength, he gains a +2 to the damage roll.
  • He has resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and physical damage.
  • If he can cast spells, he can't cast them or concentrate on them while raging.
His rage lasts 1 minute. It ends early if he is knocked unconscious, if he ends it as a bonus action, or if he doesn't attack during a turn.   Reckless Attack: He can throw aside all concern for defense to attack with fierce desperation. When he makes his first attack on his turn, he can decide to attack recklessly. Doing so gives him advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using Strength during this turn, but attack rolls against him have advantage until his next turn.   Danger Sense: He has an uncanny sense of when things nearby aren't as they should be, giving him an edge when he dodges away from danger. He has advantage on Dexterity saving throws against effects that he can see, such as traps and spells. To gain this benefit, he can't be blinded, deafened, or incapacitated.   Aggressive: He can use a bonus action to move up to his speed towards a hostile enemy he sees.

Actions

Mace Strike: Melee Weapon Attack, +5 to hit, 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6+3) 1d6+3 bludgeoning damage.
