Rex
One of the mutants categorized as 'Fodder' by the Corvega City Slavers, Rex was not treated with any particular affection by his brethren. He spent most nights sleeping outside and ate anything discarded by his more functional kin. Despite these conditions, Rex has worn a perpetual sloppy grin through every moment. That could just be his face though..
A simple man of simple tastes, when he came in contact with one of the dinosaur toys from out west, he became completely infatuated. Changing his name to the only thing people remember calling him, Rex loves to tell strangers about his obsession. When he learned there was a small cache of these trinkets located at Rattlesnake Jim's Sarsaparilla Plant it was only a matter of time before he set off to find them.
Nearly shooting him out of frustration at his 'conversational skills', RJ made a compromise since he needed a little extra muscle for a scavenging run. Finding the toys to be a poor investment even before the war, he just wanted rid of the damn things, so he promised Rex every single one if he would help clear out a nearby military base. Bewildered by such generosity, Rex nearly wept at the offer, and then proceeded to follow RJ around the next three days so he could thank him every few moments.
While inside an advanced laboratory located underneath the base, they discovered experiments into cybernetics. Some earlier ones had been kept in cryosleep for study, including successes and failures alike. Fiddling with the buttons and knobs, Rex managed to wake one patient labeled 'Cyberchimp'. Initially considering shooting the beast due to its condition, RJ once again showed restraint when he realized it kept the dinosaur obsessed mutant busy.
Once they returned to the Sarsaparilla plant Rex realized he could not carry all of his new toys back to Corvega City and so he decided to settle down with his new friend and work for RJ. Used mostly for menial labor and extra muscle, he earns his own tent and two hot meals a day for his efforts which is luxury compared to his past. Having a simple way of doing things, he named the chimpanzee after the only thing it would eat and is never more than a few feet apart from his companion or his assortment of Tyrannosaurs Rex memorabilia.
