Forte
The seat of the High King. A land of chivalry and romance. Due to constant practice, via colourful tournaments and their position as the preeminent realm in the kingdom, Forte has a strong martial history. The Arts are equally important – the stories of knights saving maidens and killing dragons encourage the knightly arts and encourage chivalry. Poems, stories and music are particularly notable in Forte and it is recognised that the greatest in these fields often hail from this land.
Forte is what one might consider an "English" land – great, verdant and somewhat hilly, with babbling brooks and quaint towns. The sun is bright, but not burning and the feudal customs of life are especially fixed here, being so close to the centre of all power in the form of the royal family.
Geography
Rolling hills, green grass and rivers of clear water characterise Forte. It is a land of temperate climates and forgiving seasons. To the west are a great mountain range, known as the Huon Cliffs, as that is where it is said that Ram killed the God of the Dragons. On the ground, a great deal of the land is farmland used to sustain the swelling population who live in this region.
Localized Phenomena
Forte is remarkably stable - it's usual weather patterns and lack of natural disasters have been the norm of centuries.
History
Perhaps as a result of his verdant climate and stability of its seasons, lordship of this land was fiercely contested before the First King was able to defeat his rivals and claim it for his own. Before that time it was always split into several factions, all claiming to be the Prince of Forte and fighting anyone who dared claim the title for themselves.
The infighting ensured that Forte would remain the most undeveloped and unstable of the realms before the First King appeared. Whilst he was an outsider, this was not unusual as many dreamed of finding their fortune on the battlefields of Forte. But it was his remarkably strength and the magic of his relics that saw him finally end the matter of Forte and whom who should rule it. With this victory, the First King gained an expansion land of lush plains and plentiful natural resources. Indeed, from a historical perspective, many would argue that this is what provided him the strength to force the other lords of the Great Realm to submit to his authority in due course.
The general make-up of Forte remained remarkably consistent for many years after until the title Prince of Callic was introduced, creating another form of light overlordship below that of Prince of Forte. As the Prince of Callic was the heir to the throne, naturally the lords of Forte could do little but complain silently with this change to their historic rights.
