Akan

"The Sun is reborn in death. Each morning he is reincarnated by flame through the offerings of his children." -Arril, the Sacrament

Akan is a deeply revered & obeyed God, and he is considered the chief deity among the denizens of Kapsaka. Specifically, the Empire of Sun, also known as the Wardens of Akan, place Akan at the center of their political and cultural systems. Sunlight, fire, alcohol, life, death, and suicide are crucial elements associated with Akan's domain. While often depicted as a youthful, broad, and powerful Sun Elf, some scholars argue that more bestial depictions were discarded to ensure Sun Elf supremacy within their empire.

Grand stepped temples house worship of Akan, with the largest housed in Anzez. Ritualistic mortal sacrifice is the most gruesome of these practices, but the most rewarded. Devout worshipers often become sun priests and master fire magic, with the most gifted learning to harness the flames of necromancy.

During a solar eclipse, Akan lands his draconic form on the planet to feed on his subjects. Children who are born during one of these many eclipses are considered to have received Akan's blessing, and they are raised within a reclusive religious sect: The Order of Black Sun.
