CC:Session:13:When Fate Collides Report
General Summary
With Claug and Bat tagging behind, The Agitators made their final push into Tagera HQ. Feeling a twist in The Ether, Carbide pressed on. Climbing across the roof, he looked into a room filled with technological marvels. A massive machine pulled at the souls of Yo-Dime and Izden, and the third son, Night, paced before them.
Concerned by Carbides behavior, Claug pressed them not to go on. He explained that this room contained The Void Well, an artificial crafted long ago to toy with the forces of the universe. It alone has been the only reason that the Humans have been able to eat and survive their journey to The Hallowed Expanse on The Orion.
Summoning his magic, Carbide played with Night's mind. He asked her to find more tributes for the device. She explained that Horus had asked her to destroy the machine for the sake of progress, to discard tradition. She refused to let so many people suffer and starve. Making a deal with Tano, they have been able to keep the device running with only 1-2 sacrifices per season, "a small price to pay for the lives of a million". Unconvinced, Carbide convinced her to leave the room and proceeded to cut it to threads with no concern on how to properly shut down the device. In horror, Claug ran as fast as he could and has not been seen since.
Vox quickly hacked and dropped the force fields, allowing Yo-Dime and Izden to become free, but making the well even more unstable. Then the alarms went off. With a countdown for the "meltdown", The Agitators escaped as quickly as they could. Carbide and Boots grabbed the collapsed individuals and ran. With a massive explosion behind them, they barely escaped with their lives.
Reality quickly began to rip apart as tear between the material and The Abstract began to intersect. With the world collapsing in around them and feeling otherworldly power, The Agitators paid their respects to the friends who didn't make it and ran to safety.
Stepping into a warping building, laughter could be heard. A void-infused feline, named Crix, began discussing the work of "the great old one, of Graog'ende". Convinced that the old one was finally going to be freed, they agreed to help find a "worthy" sacrifice to the dark god. Luckily a bounty was provided, as Tano returned home.
With a massive dragon wrapping around the facility, The Agitators were finally forced to face Tano's true form. In a devastating display of power, Tano waged war and pushed the agitators into a corner. Desperate, hurt, and feeling the world collapse, they retreated into a tunnel below Tano's club.
Stepping into the caves below Tagera, the Agitators found themselves somewhere between the realms of reality and with nowhere to go but forward. So, they caught their breath and prepared to face Tano in her lair. Rushing in, a violent battle ensued. Wounded by acidic fumes, deep claws, and a brutal bite - it seemed like there was little hope to survive Tano. After a barrage of bullets, Vox laid collapsed and dying on the ground. Boots dropped in with a kick from the shadows, creating a window for Carbide to plunge his sword into the woman. As Tano prepared for a final assault, Mellow summoned ice around her that pierced into her flesh. Despite her final effort, Tano reverted to her draconic form and transformed into a giant stone statue.
Carbide placed his blade in Tano's mouth, The Agitators collected the treasure that surrounded them, and the group walked out ready to face whatever the world was to become next.
