Yosha
Yosha does not remember the first time he spoke to a spirit, because the haunted feeling has always been with him. What he does remember is the scoldings from his mother, the isolation, and the exorcisms from the elders in Tokusa. Like a moth to a flame, the souls of the departed have always flocked to him, and without knowledge on how to address them, the dark souls cause constant agony.
As a child, he once stumbled upon a scroll. The rhythmic flow of the poetry captured him, and for the first time in his life, he felt a reprieve from the constant wails of the dead. For years he read, wrote, and memorized all the poetry he could in a desperate attempt at feeling moments of happiness. Unfortunately, as the darkness inside him grew, so did his beacon for lost souls.
When Kasula Miayra came through Yosha's village seeking an ancient and powerful lost soul, Yosha was able to help guide her. In their short journey together the Sun Elf was able to see the potential in Yosha and promised that together they could calm the voices. Under Kasula's mentorship, Yosha has begun to learn to subdue and control the relentless souls that haunt him. Now as her formal apprentice and a member of the Union of Ghosts, he follows her into the Hallowed Expanse to further his understanding of magic.
