Phylisties

Distrusted by the Hellecians even more than the barbarians from The Shackle, the Phylisties are a race of transient serpentines who can slip away in an instant, stab you in the back and disappear without a trace.

Capable spies/bandits/predators/cutthroats, Phylisties are able to "shed" their dimensional skin and pass through locked doors undetected.

Descendants of Python and Delphyne: twin serpents killed by Apollo and Artemis who established the temple of Delphi and installed the Dopheans as its prophets in their place.

When the Invasion of the Progenitors occurred, the Phylisties helped the Hellecians by poisoning the Myquestrians pulling Apollo's Hamariot. In exchange, the Hellecians promised them reinforcements to retake Delphi.

Instead of retaking Delphi, the Hellecians demolished the temple city right while the planet broke apart and the Thermetolians scorched the planet, displacing the other native species of The Wedge from their planets.

As retribution, the Phylistine Brood were the scourge of the sector during the Age of Anarchy.

Male Phylistie or drakonids are shrewd, independent, and ruthless peons that breath flammable/noxious breath. While Female Phylistie or echinids are unique in their healing attributes and the ability to clump together with other females to create all forms of Greek mythological monsters (hydra, gorgons, dragons, etc.).

Realizing their danger and threat to their newly-won hegemony, the Patrokonoi-Hellecia decided to placate the Brood and gave their leader: Drakelion Pylostos as their capital, made them Prostatis-Hellecia (or Hellecian protector) of the Kothrian Pass and inoculated them as a Mixolastian Sub Species thanks to sponsorship from the Aeonites.

Mostly as a tactic to keep the Phylisties invested with the Patrokonoi and monitored by the ones nearly as distrustful as the serpents. 

Protecting merchant ships moving through the pass (mostly by exacting crippling tolls along the lone Accelerator Lane) and possessing a peculiar familiarity with DST Accelerator technology, Phylistine ships can slip in and out of dimensional planes just like themselves.

Leading many in the sector to believe the main reason the Phylisties wanted Delphi was its probable nexus point to an inter-dimensional accelerator lane network only they have access to. Now gone, the Phylisties are stuck on the Delphystine Serpent from Pylostos to Koth.
