Osirion Resistance

"We fight for a free Osirion."

“What can one poor historian say about his homeland that hasn’t already been said a hundred times better by historians five hundred lifetimes ago? It is a nation that was already old when Azlant’s children founded Taldor. It was already ancient when Aroden raised the Starstone from the Inner Sea and became a god, and it was truly venerable when Qadira toppled the last, feeble remnant of a once-great line of pharaohs. Despite the vandalism and other atrocities the Keleshites committed during their rule, they have accomplish one thing of value: they cleared away the weeds that had grown up under millennia of pharaonic rule, so that a new growth, germinated from an ancient seed, can be restored to its native earth when its people needed it the most” —Introduction to Osirion: A History in Four Ages, by the Sand Sage.
We were the first civilizations to rise in the wake of Earthfall, Osirion is one of the greatest empires in the history of Golarion, a nation of great knowledge, magic, wealth, and power. This ancient land harbors pyramids, mummies, terrible curses, and endless sand, as well as a culture steeped in proud traditions: devout respect for our gods, dedication to communal service, and unswerving devotion to its rulers. Osirion todaymay be under Keleshite rule, but we are amidst the opportunity to regain the legacy of the pharaohs supplanted by these foreign oppressors. We, the Osiriani people have before us the opportunity reestablish our own identity in a modern world by reaching back thousands of years and proudly proclaiming—and I’m sure rediscovering— our forebears’ accomplishments.

Opposing Opression

  • Domestic, foreign and financial policy is set by foreigners
  • Our citizens are owned as slaves by foreigners who care not for us
  • We have no military
  • If they catch trace of monuments of our heritage, they strike with the same assault teams who hunt the most vile outlaws.
  • Their caliphs deny us the best positions and trade contracts
  • Despite being only a fifth of our population, they have all the wealth. You will only see a Osiriani in abject poverty.

Views on Thievery

Cultural Context
  • The Immortals of Osiron would take artifacts and items of great power from other nations that found them, seeing no inherent property ownership in an item they found, and claiming them all for themselves.
  • All items in the nation are, essentially, property of the Pharoh. This doesn't preclude the law from having property rights, it does, it's just that if the nation needs something in order to aid the prosperty of all, that the nobility can call on it and have it. It's culturally considered good practice that the person who's belonging is taken is compensated either immediately and fairly for the item, or belatedly and generously.
Thievery against the Keleshites is nearly never looked down upon, as they're not seen to be legitimate owners of anything here.
Thievery against fellow true Osiriani is generally condemned.
Thievery to help the poor or further the interests of Osirion is generally considered virtuous.
Thievery to help onesself is generally frowned upon as it is not a virtious way to escape poverty or any situation and seened as desparate.
