Darkin

God of Destruction

The World's Oblivion

Darkin is the god of destruction and twin brother to Xapham. Together they forged Riven in an act of creation and destruction in unison, building the planet up before refining it by breaking it down. As time passed, Darkin grew more and more distant from his brother, becoming fully corrupted with warped ideals by the Betrayer Gods. Eventually, he was sealed away by Celestor, Malady, and his brother, but not before sparking a century-long war between the gods known as the Calamity. Upon being sealed away, he began to unravel all around him, attempting to turn the planet he helped create into dust. During this blast, he created the Abyss, which is now a sprawling hub of warfare for the worshippers of the Betrayer Gods, and a direct pathway into their realms.   Darkin now sits in contemplation within the infinite depths of the Astral Plane that lie beneath the Lower Realms, locked within his godstone to forever float in silence. As his now warped mind grows madness unending, he seeks a way to destroy Riven with his own hands, hoping that he will be freed to break it down to atoms. Perhaps he will drag its smoldering husk around with him for all eternity once he is freed. Nobody knows, it's not like he's thought about it much...

Depiction

In ancient, long-forgotten passages and artwork, Darkin is shown to be Xapham's near equal appearance. But where the god of creation resembles a galaxy ever growing, the World's Oblivion is more of a black hole turning in on itself. Dark celestial wings, a jaggedly horned crown atop its head: displaying nothing more than an ever open maw. And a galaxy-sized blade host to black holes growing from it and his body. Darkin is a warp into nothingness come to life.

Enemies

Darkin holds deep resentment toward his brother, as it is him who slowly lost their way when it came to the two's original goal. Worshippers of Xapham, Malady, and Celestor are those that Darkin and his followers seek to extinguish from existence the most for banishing him among the cosmos. In addition, Darkin shares a hatred for the primal fiends, the four gods who slowly corrupted him into what he has become. While his followers may ally themselves with fiends if they must, they are not against razing them from the universe when the time comes.
