Drift Rock

The Drift Rock is the popular name for the asteroid that mysteriously arrived outside Absalom Station on 6/10/324AG. In the core of the rock, ancient technology millions of years old is discovered by a team of Starfinders sent to investigate by Chriogrim the Broken.

Geography

Mostly weathered and pitted from its time in the Drift, bumping up alongside other objects for it's considerable amount of time in there. The Rock features a few caves that pierce through its interior, which meet in some places and also connect to the ancient alien ruins located in the centre of the asteroid.

Fauna & Flora

Nothing native. As of 22/10/324AG, a single garaggakal has the rock as its territory and is unable to leave. A cluster of akata reside a little further away in the rocky caverns, hibernating until prey arrives.

History

1. The ancient technology that the Drift Rock is a part of was created.
2. A section of whichever planetoid the ancient technology was located upon was severed from its plane and moved into the Drift.
3. A garaggakal claims the Drift Rock as its territory.
4. The explorer Moriko Nash discovers the asteroid in the Drift and lands her ship, the PWS Sunrise Maiden in one of its larger caverns. She is eventually cornered by the resident garaggakal and records a short Last Will and Testament before her suicide, preferring to take her fate into her own hands rather than another's.
5. ?AG: A colony of akata land upon the Drift Rock. With nothing to hunt, they soon go into hibernation.
6. 6/10/324AG: The crew of the PWS Acreon discover the asteroid and come under attack shortly afterwards. The captain engages the Acreon's autopilot, which tows the asteroid back to Absalom Station.
7. 22/10/324AG: A team of Starfinders consisting of Julakesh, Zanderbey, Dash Starlight and Tyrfing are employed by Chriogrim the Broken as a neutral party to investigate upon the behalf of the Hardscrabble Collective and Astral Extractions. Dash dies due to radiation poisoning, and his body is incinerated by Tyrfing's solarian abilities in a makeshift funeral.
