Qualifications

Required to be a drow female. Half-drow are technically qualified but will struggle to maintain the respect necessary to rule an Apostan House.

Requirements

Must be of age, must be willingly named First Heir by the current Matriarch. Upon her death or withdrawal, the title is granted.

Appointment

Public ceremony, with any Houses they serve as vassal to providing a representative to voice their approval. Paperwork is also important, but is done in private beforehand.

Duties

An unspoken assumption is that the Matriarch will guide their House to more prestige and credits.

Responsibilities

The Matriarch guides the overall direction of their House.

Benefits

Power and prestige in Apostan society. The use of their House's income and assets may also be used at the Matriarch's discretion, but the wellbeing of the House must also be considered lest other members feel you are squandering their shared resources.

Accoutrements & Equipment

A crown, made from thin strands of silvery metal entwined together is worn in formal situations. Each House's crown has its own unique pattern.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

No official means are provided, but assassinations are common.
