Apostan society is separated cleanly into two halves: the ruling Drow and their brutish servants - usually Orcs or perhaps their Half-Orc offspring. A few other species can be seen but they are an uncommon novelty, commonly tourists which occupy the topmost tiers of the working class.

Ruling class (usually a Drow) has right of way physically, morally and socially. Females are automatically higher rank than males, but this does not apply to the working class - for them, might makes right.

Drow females rule society with a bloodied iron fist. Males serve them as bodyguards, troops and reproduction services.

Working-class

While the females dominate the ruling class, gender is much less of a concern in the rough lower classes.
