Mostly concentrated on Verces, although a few have scattered in spacecraft across the Pact Worlds.

Verthani have long been held as some of the best in the cybernetics industry, although they are rapidly being overtaken by other corporations using espionage and other less savoury methods.

The Verthani make up the majority of Verces' Vercite-speaking population. They are, of course, capable of Common as well.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Verthani keep a unique philosophy: each must strive towards goodness (with lapses being understood, and excused - provided that the individual will renew their struggles as soon as possible) for the entirety of their life, until they go to the afterlife and are reunited with friends and family. However, if they resign from this lifelong quest there is no turning back. All that remains for their afterlife is an eternity in the Abyss, with no chance of redemption. This threat of absolute black-or-white drives a considerable number to lawlessness, taking as much as they can before their end. And with the constantly encroaching factions pushing their heritage out of their reach, more and more Verthani are turning to crime to keep their home in their own hands, for their own sake and that of their children's.

History

As a whole, the species maintains a solid reputation as Spacefarers, with legends of their exploits guaranteeing them a place in history for millennia to come.

Conservation Status

Although they are not yet a threatened species, as more are forced into the Outlaw Kingdoms of Verces or trickle into the Pact Worlds, their numbers diminish. Extinction is only a few hundred years away.

1.83m (6ft) to 2.44m (8ft)

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Able to change their skin colour, although it is always a single tone. Only superficial markings such as scars and tans provide a natural influence to the colouring.
