Rault the Wise

Rault, who was also called the Wise, was a Northlander and the Jarl of Norland in the Moonshae Isles from the the Year of the Ageless One, 1479 DR.
Rault ruled from Stormbanner Hold in the city of Rogarsheim. With the restlessness of his own Northlanders, Rault was for a time prisoner in his keep during the Unbound Insurgency. He was freed by the 1st Spears of the United Moonshae Isles, which for a time strengthened their allegiance, but not all were so pleased however. The Storm Maiden rose to power in Norland following those events, creating pressure for Rault to step down as Jarl given the her quickly growing following. Though he had not yet stepped down as of 1485 DR, the year of her death. Rault saw the favor of destiny in the Storm Maiden and could easily see her ruling not only Norland, but the entirety of the Moonshae Isles as well at some point. Her disappearance and reported death were both blessing and curse to the future of the Northlanders in Rault's mind.
By the Year of the Warrior Princess, 1489 DR, Rault still ruled, but wars with the Storm Maiden had left him with no male heirs after both his son and grandson were slain.
