Tamiere Isle

The Tamiere Isle is a small low lying island in the middle of Old Salt, covered in a dense jungle, and populated by a handful of settlements and ancient temples. For many thousands of years, the people of the Tamiere Isle lived in relative peace and obscurity, only being known for downing the Kraken sometimes at the beginning of the 2nd Age. Overtime Old Salt had become a hive of piracy, and many of them found alcoves to hide in along the coast of Tamiere Isle. It was not until the Anorian Empire's invasion of Old Salt, that the people indigenous people of the island began to embrace the pirates who attempted to hide on their shores. It would be this relationship that would bring the island from relative obscurity, to a key trading point in the world of pirates and scoundrels.

History

The Tamiere Isle was one of the first locations in all of the Reach to regain a population above water. People who had survived under the water made their way up onto the island in the beginning of the 2nd Age in an attempt to escape the horrors of the Reach's waters. They found safe harbor on the shores of the Tamiere Isle, but it was small and covered in a dense jungle and threats loomed large past the tree lines. Aberrations that had dragged themselves from the bottom of the ocean floor also found a home on the island. It was these dire straits that lead the people to turn to the Ocean's Triumvirate. This was a name bestowed upon the three Cosmonauts the Tamierians felt had the most influence over their lives on the island; Dovanumir, Êstris and Iphion. With their guidance and strength, the island was settled and the people were free to begin establishing small villages where they could manage to clear.    For the next couple of thousand years, the people of the Tamiere Isle were able to prosper. Their devotion to the Ocean's Triumvirate had allowed a great many mystics and orcales to be born on the island, making it a destination that many sought to travel to have their fates read. Aside from this, the island was covered in small fishing villages that supported localized temples, as well as small bands of guards to protect the island when needed. Once the Kraken thrust one of its ancient tentacles straight into the material plane right in the center of Old Salt, the island would never be the same. Their mystic foresaw a great war between the forces of the Kraken and the people of Old Salt. Messengers went far and wide, requesting aid from any who would offer. In the end, only Draconia, Stargrada, and druids from Edengaard came to help repeal the Great Old One. These combined forces of mortals suffered great losses in the war against the Kraken, but they were able to seal it out of the Material Plane, much like the heroes of the 1st Age had done. The mystics of the island had conjured up the plan to create a large vessel that they could lay with traps that could make it easier to sink the Kraken. Since those days, many temples to the Ocean's Triumvirate have been maintained, as a reminder of what the people of the island were delivered from because of the guidance of their oracles.    Thousands of years passed, and the Isle remained a place that people from all across the Reach would venture to get a reading from one of the many oracles throughout the island. This was the reason that the Tamiere Isle was put into the gaze of the Anorian Empire, the Anorians sought it for access to the oracles of the island. Seeing what was to come, the oracles quickly made alliances with the pirates who had begun occupying much of the shore lines throughout Old Salt. Together, they were able to fend of the Anorian incursion for enough time that they Empire could no longer sustain it's attention. Once the Federations of Parlay were established, the people of the Tamiere Isle freely welcomed them to use their island as a home as well.
