ILMU-hó 1083-4-2/AN (a.k.a. Aló de Nalanmar)

An alien creature apprehended near the trade hub Nalanmar.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Nowadays, 1083-4-2/AN appears sickly and malnourished even by its abnormal standards. This is partly caused by an intentional lack of light in its confinements, which is necessary to keep it from escaping and falling into the wrong hands.

Special abilities

Its oldest documented ability was controlling the ocean waves, either to agitate them or to calm them down. Besides that, 1083-4-2/AN communicates by planting ideas in the addressee's mind. During its escape attempts, the creature demonstrated additional powers such as regrowing limbs, melting prison walls or poisoning the air.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Foggy Past

Little is known about the creature's life before it was apprehended. It mentioned having spent time on the other side of the Davygómara Ocean, but also claims to have hatched in the coastal town Lutédólin de Nalanmar.

Misunderstood Savior

The first known encounter was on Chychlun 2 in 1083 PN, on the beach by said town. Three fishermen had caught it while it was interacting with a massive flood wave that was headed for the settlement. They attacked it because they were convinced that the "demon" was creating the wave.   The "demon" instead states that it saved the town by dispersing the wave. While ROCHIM could neither confirm nor dismiss this claim, controlling the sea to either effect would be a valuable power that would greatly help the Nimýric Navy.

Stubborn Pacifist

When approached with the offer to work for the Nimýric Empire, 1083-4-2/AN refused to cooperate. It did express a readiness to help, but some of its responses indicated that it was similarly predisposed to supporting the Pereqaian Alliance.   Consequently, setting it free was not an option. ROCHIM instead resorted to studying the creature directly, seeking to unlock the secret without its help.

Attempts at Escaping

1083-4-2/AN repeatedly tried to break out of ROCHIM's custody. In doing so, it revealed additional properties and powers, which not only lead ROCHIM to develop new measures for containment, but also advanced the scientists' understanding of the creature. It appears that 1083-4-2/AN eventually realized this. The attempts became rare, and it often waited for several generations before trying again.

Apathy

During the last century, communication with 1083-4-2/AN has ceased almost completely. It no longer answers any questions, neither from scientists nor military interrogators. It does not resist any procedures, but has not become compliant, either. The most plausible explanation is that it is waiting for the next chance at escaping while trying not to give away its thoughts.

Intellectual Characteristics

The creature exhibits signs of person-like intelligence. It gives somewhat plausible answers during interrogation and repeatedly tried to coax inexperienced personnel into helping it escape.

Personality Characteristics

Virtues & Personality perks

The creature is extremely calm, patient and not fazed by warnings of danger. However, it is debatable whether these are true virtues or simply stem from the inability to comprehend its situation.

Vices & Personality flaws

While it does not show open hostility towards any ROCHIM personnel, it does not cooperate with them, either. It staunchly refuses aiding the Nimýric Empire in defending its citizens, going so far as to accuse them of stooping to the level of the enemy.
