The temperatures and weather patterns affecting the continent Gysuphun.

Manifestation

Temperatures

The average temperature and therefore the seasons mainly depend on Chryphóra's orbital position and the resulting distance to the Kaleidoscope.   The relative position of the two heat sources also affects the temperature distribution throughout the day and night. In spring, it is warmest before noon and coldest before midnight (both determined by the position of Saphéne in the sky). In autumn, these extremes occur after the respective mark.   As a general rule, temperatures are highest in the equatorial belt and decrase towards the poles.

Winds

Near the equator, wind tends to come from the east. However, Gysuphun is marked by several mountain ranges which are oriented almost perpendicular to these winds and divert the air flow towards the poles. Wind in the cold and polar zones mostly comes from the west.

Precipitation

Most winds bring in humid air from the respective ocean. The main exceptions to this rule are the west wind in northern Gysuphun and the winds originating east of the Circular Sea.   Precipitation in humid areas mostly takes the form of rain. In the tropical zones, this shifts towards sleet and occasional snow in the winter nights. Snow in winter is more common in the temperate zone, and closer to the poles it also tends to fall during the transitional seasons. However, in the warmer months even the polar regions are more likely to see sleet and rain.   The volume of the polar ice caps fluctuates greatly between summer and winter. Large parts of them melt during summer but are restored by the snowfall during winter.

Localization

Equatorial Zone

The hottest zone encompasses the desert kingdoms of Vélypholis and Héphamóhis as well as the mountainous Rovonulis and the various kingdoms surrounding the Circular Sea.

Tropical Zones

The kingdom of Nimýris lies in the northern tropical zone, as do its neighbors Hechalis, Tashénis and Akóvónis. Rógyphis, Kýnyónis and Bokisaris mark the northern border of this zone.   On the western side of the mountains, this zone covers Hógeana and Vyperlahis as well as northern Sýnrogara, northern Bónyónis and southern Utsóvóbis.   The southern tropical zone encompasses Rophnýnis, Ronochis, Pharani, Ogsatéri, Ósanvoché and Bécarysbé.

Temperate Zones

Most of the remaining kingdoms are located in the temperate zones. In the south, this are Gýbasané, Gipasani, Léréchapi, Méchýdisi and Détohyri.   The northern temperate zone covers northern Utsóvóbis, southern Béksavóny and southern Kiblóbaly, as well as the kingdoms of Dymanulis, Hévýphy and Otsuduny.

Cold Zones

The coldest regions of the continent are northern Béksavóny and northern Kiblóbaly, partly because of their proximity to the northern pole and partly because of the altitude of the Gyllgóbýpha Mountains.

Author's Notes

Whew, this is a massive one! It's great to finally have that part figured out, now I'm one step closer to picturing what the locations for my story will actually look and feel like.   What do you think - is this infodump structured appropriately? Is the table clear to read? Do the various maps make sense to you?

This is fantastically in-depth, and the colourful graphics stop it from just being a wall of tiring text. Really nicely done.
