Personal history

Early Life

Nimýron was the third son born to the leaders of the Epunda clan. His elder nest brothers were killed in fights with the neighboring Tépinó clan, leaving him as the heir of the family at the age of 17.   Unbeknownst to their clans, Nimýron began courting Tarinu, the eldest daughter of the rival family. Gradually, they steered their respective clans away from the feud before their forbidden romance was discovered. Enraged, the leaders of the Tépinó clan moved to attack their neighbors. It is said that Nimýron stepped forward between the opposing warriors, dropped his weapons to the ground and invited Tarinu's family to strike him down, to end the fight with minimal loss on both sides. Moved by his readiness to sacrifice himself, none of the enemies found it in their hearts to do so. Legend has it that eventually, Tarinu's father followed Nimýron's example, walked up to him unarmed and declared for all to hear that his daughter had chosen well.   Nimýron and Tarinu were wed the following spring, uniting their clans in peace.

Life as Clan Leader

Following the death of his father Géberos, Nimýron and became the leader of the Epunda clan. He soon became renowned among the neighboring clans, offering peace and friendship to those who would listen, and bravely defending his people against those who would not. As his children came of age, he encouraged them to seek out spouses among their allies, uniting more clans under his family. The Epunda clan flourished. With strength in numbers, large territories and an abundance of resources, Nimýron's people found safety and prosperity.   One of the gifts Nimýron spread to his followers was the belief in Saphéne, the mother goddess of all life. In recognition of his service, Nimýron was rewarded with the title of régnó by the high priest of Saphéne at the age of 41.

Life as King

Five years after his coronation, a terrible disease known as Tusunpa began to ravage the kingdom. For several years, Nimýron was faced with impossible choices as he had to place harsh restrictions on his people, ensure that the sick were cared for and direct resources towards finding a solution. Moreover, the disease nearly cost the life of Tarinu and severely harmed their third clutch which was conceived during that time. This eventually lead to the untimely deaths of their sons Sadrónus and Sendiros.   Even after the epidemic was defeated, there was little time to rest. The kingdom's reputation had attracted envy from its northern neighbor, the Kingdom of Gennules, whose ruler tried to exploit the weakened state of Nimýron's people after the disease hat greatly reduced their numbers. However, through clever investment in the training of spies and engineers, Nimýron managed to keep the enemy at bay while his diplomats sought out the help of their allies. Together, they managed to win the war and topple the tyrant who had started it. Seeing that the latter's subjects were not to blame for their ruler's greed, Nimýron invited them into his own kingdom.   More wars followed that were won both with wisdom and with the countless alliances that Nimýron managed to forge over the years. He became a legend far beyond the borders of his own realm, even more so when his youngest son, Malórin the Explorer, established trade agreements with the lands south of the Vélyphola Desert and carried the stories of his family with him.
