Khatara Scaling
Khatara Scaling is a system that is implemented in the higher ranks of The Wanderer Guild. The Wandering Governors decided that simply giving a quest based on rank was an insufficient way of displaying the skill needed to complete it, they thought that some jobs had too many variables to just label it for a specific rank. The higher ups are well aware that a tier features a high and low end of adventurers within it.
Thus upon reaching the rank of Steel Wanderer, members are given a Khatara Scaling with the quest also, allowing them to decide if their skills are to the level of what the job is asking for. Khatara can be used for landscape and potential encounters on the job. If a wanderer is to fail a quest, they must report what they think the Khatara is for these elements.
Khatara Scaling levels and meanings:
Khatara 1
Khatara 1 is a scaling that would define a quest as simple Steel level, the threat level would be what is expected in the job description. Enemies that are ranked as Khatara 1 should be handled with ease by a base level Steel Wanderer. Landscapes within Khatara 1 are expected to be simplistic and easily navigable.
Khatara 2
Khatara 2 is a scaling that would be perceived as difficult for newly anointed Steel Wanderers. The threat level in Khatara 2 is far higher than 1 and could lead to causalities, both enemies and landscapes ranked as Khatara 2 are tougher and less movable.
Khatara 3
Khatara 3 is a scaling that would be considered unachievable for a base level Steel Wanderer, only those with great experience and stand out amongst others, are expected to take on Khatara 3 scaled Quests and complete them. Potential enemies in Khatara 3 can come in great numbers or if alone, harness the potential to take on a squad of four newly appointed Steel Wanderers. Landscapes in this rating are the first that could cause potential hindrance to the adventurers performance.
Khatara 4
Khatara 4 is considered to be a scaling that should only be taken on by Titanium Wanderers. Only Steel Wanderers who are clearly above their rank, should attempt a quest with a Khatara 4 aspect.
Khatara 5
Khatara 5 is considered the true beginning of danger by many experienced Wanderers. A large majority of Titanium quests will feature at least one aspect that is scaled at Khatara 5, meaning that they always pose a potential threat. Enemies that receive a Khatara 5 are considered extremely dangerous and a would certainly spell death for a single Steel Wanderer unless they were a prodigy of sorts. Landscapes within Khatara 5 could pose extreme difficulty unless proper preparation is made, if not the quest could be over before it begins.
Khatara 6
Khatara 6 takes a significant jump from 5 as it is perceived that only high tiered and experienced Titanium Wanderers would stand a chance against a Khatara 6 scaled aspect. Although Khatara 6 scaling's are uncommon in the Titanium rank they do occasionally pop up, leading to a 40% success rate for those within Titanium who attempt these quests.
Khatara 7
An aspect that is scaled as Khatara 7 symbolises the fact that it could be dangerous to any level of wanderer if not taken seriously. By no means is a Titanium or below wanderer expected to take on a quest that features a Khatara 7 aspect, these are generally left to Platinum Wanderers who are beyond confident in their abilities. Enemies with a Khatara 7 scaling are extremely dangerous and could cause serious harm if focus is lost for even a second. Landscapes scaled at Khatara 7 can be considered near impossible for a lower ranked wanderer to traverse or navigate, even landscapes within this scaling are potentially harmful and could cause death.
Khatara 8
Towards the middle and upper echelon of Platinum is where a Khatara 8 scaling can be found. This level of scaling is to be taken very seriously, any tier of Platinum wanderer is expected to be fully prepared and take all precautions before embarking on a quest with a Khatara 8 scaling. Khatara 8 is expected to potentially side line a Platinum tiered wanderer for months after its completing as they require an extraordinary level of effort.
Khatara 9
Khatara 9 is only expected to be taken on by the truly elite of the Platinum tier and those within Obsidian. If a Platinum wanderer is to take a quest with a Khatara 9 aspect, they are highly recommended to not do so alone.
Khatara 10
If an individual is capable of taking on a Khatara 10 aspect, it truly symbolises that they are within the top echelon of the Wanderers Guild as a whole. Khatara 10 scaled threats are capable of taking on a party of Platinum level wanderers in their lonesome. Landscapes that are scaled within this rating require an alternative form of transportation as simply walking would not be possible.
Khatara 11
Khatara 11 is a scaling only presented to those within the Obsidian tier of the guild. Anyone below the mentioned rank is highly advised to retreat and notify the guild operations of the Khatara 11 aspect. Although Obsidian level wanderers are capable of taking on Khatara 11 by themselves, it is still recommended that they seek support.
Khatara 12
Khatara 12 is considered pure Obsidian territory and any individual who is below such level and still proceeds to engage a Khatara 12 aspect would surely not return. Enemies within this scaling are expected to give even Obsidian Wanderers a tough time and definitely flatten most Platinum wanderers. Khatara 12 landscapes are expected to be nearly unnavigable.
Khatara 13
It would be bold to assume a single Obsidian Wanderer is capable of taking on a Khatara 13 aspect. Anything scaled at Khatara 13 is expected to have multiple Obsidian Wanderers participating. Large amounts of preparation would be required, taking on a Khatara 13 aspect could require months of planning and going in blind would be considered a death sentence.
Khatara 14
This level of scaling is almost non existent. In order to take on a Khatara 14 aspect, a group of adventurers are required to have at least one Painite Wanderer and even then still recommended to have the support of other high tiered wanderers. Khatara 14 aspects are expected to be potentially country bending threats and if left alone, the realm would surely bleed.
Khatara 15
Khatara 15 scaling's are not offered to any wanderer, if an individual is to report a suspected Khatara 15, the guild will go into crisis protocol. The guild will notify surrounding cities and countries about the threat and seek their assistance. Special methods will be used to summon all Platinum and above wanderers, both The Soundless Service Guild and the General Providers Guild will be contacted for cooperation in confronting the threat. A Khatara 15 aspect must be stopped at all costs. For example Assarak Bloodstone would be considered a Khatara 15 scaled enemy.
Khatara 16
Khatara 16 aspects are considered beyond the strength of the realm. If a Khatara 16 level threat was to appear, the Wanderers Guild believes it would require godly intervention to stop.
