Prologue: On A Path in the Woods
General Summary
27th Skyrest, 1442
Friar Bristol and "Baron" Lazarus Craytin were travelling southwest through the woods at night between Catena and Bridemare when they discovered a ransacked caravan belonging to Annabeth of Risevar. She was still alive, as was her daughter Mair Dillestone . During the rescue, they were attacked by brigands and forced to flee towards the safety of an inn. Their respite was short-lived, as they were soon joined by Yorath , who demanded they turn over Annabeth's child. Craytin and Bristol managed to trick their companion Colwyn into charging out the front door, while they attempted an escape through the second floor before the flames engulfed them. In the ensuing brawl, Craytin (dressed in Beth's clothes) rode off into the night on their horse, while Bristol challenged Yorath to a fight... and lost badly. Yorath mortally wounded Bristol and threw the friar into the burning inn before it collapsed atop the holy man.
The following morning, a beleaguered Baron found himself at the gates of Bridemare, where Beth and an unnamed knight were preparing to depart. She thanked him for his service and the sacrifice of his friend Bristol, and gave him a small sack of gold crowns as payment to help revive his faded fortunes.
Rewards Granted
"Baron" Lazarus received payment from Annabeth for saving the lives of her and her child.
Missions/Quests Completed
Annabeth and Mair were safely delivered into the care of a contact waiting for them outside Bridemare. They have gone to ground and will be difficult to find. They remain safe and secure from those wishing them harm... for now.
