Lady Ravenna Durant (a.k.a. The Iron Warden)
Afflicted, connected, weary. The Iron Warden of Cole, Ravenna Durant served House Oake as Master of Laws for ten years before an attack by a monstrous foe in the forests of Urre left her horribly disfigured. In recognition of her years of service, House Oake granted her the Barony of Cole.
She now wears an iron mask, hiding her disfigurement, and rules over the Barony of Cole. Her strict adherence to the laws of the land is well-known, and criminals and cutpurses are advised to give her territory a wide berth. It is said that "the dungeons of Castle Cole are forever empty while the Iron Warden reigns," and Ravenna does little to dissuade the commonfolk from gossiping about her harsh punishments.
Her demise came at the hands of unknown assailants who breached the walls of Castle Cole on the 4th of Harvest, 1442. Despite the efforts of her men at arms, survivors say that several groups of assassins gained access to the inner keep. The motive for this brutal attack remains unknown; perhaps one of the hundreds of men and women she sent to the gallows during her time as Master of Laws was finally revenged by their kin for a sentence they saw as unjust.
