The Antar Highlands

The heaths and hillocks of Antar form the northern crown of Banteave. Here, the ways of modern Banteave are scarcely found, as the traditions of the Untamed Clans still largely hold sway.

Geography

Rugged mountains, deep blue lakes and empty glens. The Antari Highlands is a place of breathtaking, intimidating beauty. The azure skies can quickly turn to howling winds and pummelling storms, and mudslides and blizzards can abruptly isolate communities.

Climate

The folk of the Highlands have survived for generations in its harsh climate. Winters are brutally harsh, spring tempestuous. Summer is a brief but vibrant affair, with the meadows and valleys of the Highlands erupting into wild colours as the highland flowers bloom. Fall brings low banks of fog, grey skies and bitter winds.

Natural Resources

Coal, peat and timber are plentiful. Many highlanders fish the bracingly cold coastal waters.

Tourism

Nobles from the Banteavan royal court will often journey to the Highlands to fish and hunt during the summer and fall. It is rare for them to venture farther that Castle Urre , but some parties seek the challenge inherent with ranging deep into Antari territory in search of majestic elks for their trophy wall.
