Lector Abdelraham

Lector Abdelraham of The Ceresepeion of Baqi
one of the foremost practicioners of medicine. Of the all the temples to Ceres, Lector Abdelraham has been training the wa'eb in more functional points in healing (surgery, apothecary, etc). This isn't against the practice of Ceres, but other Lectors feel that he has been lax on the religous aspects. The First Prophet Merce of Ceres chalked it up to age, endulging him in a lifetime of thoughts on Ceres. First Prophet of Ceres, Merce did repremand him on Rehema and allowing her to study the old scripture.

The words of Ceres in the old script are very fragile, valuable, and must be interpreted, hence the trove of current scripture this girl should be reading and reciting.

A few months ago in a casual trip to the marketplace was accosted by ruffians. luckily Rehema was there at the fishmarket with Pip and were able to defend Abdelraham. Back at the temple, Abdelraham found that his room was entered and his stuff moved. He made a decision then to retire as Lector in Baqi. Before leaving, he passed on an amulet of the Erudic Eye, the holy symbol of Ceres.

Take extra care of this relic. Show it to no one of the Order of Ceres. Trust even fewer to it's existance.

Abdelraham then proceded to retire, packing up his belongings. The celebration at the temple was tearful with almost half a century practicing and teaching at the Baqi temple of Ceres. There was one more suprise in store however. instead of a Wa'eb being promoted to Lector at Baqi, First Prophet sent a Gaffe to oversee the worship and pilgrimage to Baqi. Abdelraham travelled to Haath to find solitude and offer the word of Ceres to any passing traveller.

Library relating to the Old Khemitian time period

Much of the written works related to Ceres has been damaged. what has been pieced together are scrolls related to prayers and rituals. What pieces exist to be translated sound fairly close to current practices. Nothing else remains prior to the Hyborian Occupation. And this is whole issue when studying any works that are more than three thousand years old.

Library pertaining to the Late Khemitian time period

While all the books and scrolls are written in Late Khemitian, the oldest is in the 1600s (roughy 1500 years ago) relating to plagues and attempts to cure them. Documents of the Plague of Madness estimate ten thousand people died. Also of note this does leave a gap of over a thousand years between the old and late documents.
