Crookshank Bog

Crookshank Bog is a swampy region in the southern part of the Märchen Forest. It is a semi-autonomous region that is primarily run by the influence of its handful of old, prominent families and is only loosely associated with the Kingdom of the Märchen Forest. The town of Crookshank is the main settlement in the region.

Crookshank Bog is a swampy wetland with patches of dry land separated by shallow waterways.

History

Because of its remote nature, Crookshank Bog has has traditionally been a place where those trying to "get off the grid" have gone to live. There have been a number of failed attempts by the Märchen Forest to influence and integrate the region fully into the Kingdom. The independent, stubborn, and distrustful nature of the inhabitants of the Bog have kept it relatively reclusive over the years. There has never been a central governing force in Crookshank Bog. Instead, its people tend to abide by the old customs and traditions of the region. There are, however, a number of old families in the Bog that have primary influence over it. These families include the Linnville's and the Boucher's.
