Lang Chai (City)

Lang Chai is a city in Tawar that lies along its southern border on the banks of the Naga River. It serves as the main connection between Tawar and the Märhcen Forest and is famous for its ancient stone bridge connecting the Tawarian and Märchen banks of the Naga.   Because of its proximity to the Naga, Lang Chai is the center of trade for the Kingdom. Beside shipping and trade, Lang Chai is known for its fishing industry.   Unlike many other parts of Tawar, Lang Chai is a relatively diverse place. Although the main demographic in the city is Tawarian human, there are large numbers of other races that live in the city or pass through the port.   Over time, the racial and ethnic diversity of the city have had significant impacts on its architecture. Many of the buildings in Lang Chai have distinctly Märchen characteristics, particularly north Märchen. Most buildings are more than one or two stories, and many have ornate mansard style roofs.   The city of Lang Chai is managed by the Magistrate, a an office appointed by the King of Tawar. However, in its current state, Lang Chai is being governed under Marshall Law by General Chenju.
