Pain Elemental
Basic Information
Anatomy
A pain elemental most often takes the form of a floating orb, with a large opening at the front for a mouth. Their mouth is generally filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth, and their throat burns with the fires of Hell itself.
Genetics and Reproduction
Pain elementals do not reproduce in the traditional fashion. They are instead gestalt entities, formed by Devils from the most damaged parts of hundreds to thousands of human souls.
Behaviour
A pain elemental knows only malice, and the desire to inflict torment on other beings to momentarily lessen its own pain. Whilst in the Hells, it will have ample opportunity to do so on targets that are not able to resist. On the rare occasion that one finds itself outside the Hells, however, the lack of easily accessible and compliant victims will quickly drive it into a rage.
A pain elemental contains hundreds of curses inside its orb-like body, which radiate out from its form. Anyone unlucky enough to get too close to one will find it difficult to escape without being inflicted by at least one crippling curse.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
A pain elemental can see perfectly in pitch black conditions, and can sense the surface level thoughts of sentient creatures around it. Hiding from one is, therefore, extremely difficult, requiring not only an extreme proficiency in stealth but also an iron will.
