Judas
The Merchant's Friend, Protector of the People
A young boy stands eagerly at the doorway to one of the many guilds in the Market of Fortune. An older gentleman steps out from behind a curtain to greet him. Within these halls, he would learn a modest, but ever important trade. The care and upkeep of the Judean goat is intense, but how would the merchants peddle their wares without them? The boy smiles as the older man leads him behind the curtain. Two families sit across from one another at a polished table, adorned with fine plates lined with gold. Today, they will arrange for a marriage between daughter and son. Perhaps the union between tabaxi and dwarf is unconventional, but the economic opportunity far outweighs the racial and cultural differences. Over the next hour, the soon-to-be engaged will softly talk while their families iron out the rules of the engagement such that both family histories and cultures are appropriately honored. A Priestess looks down at the thief with a look of pity and understanding. What ill luck that he should be caught. With a soft smile, she kneels down and lifts the thief's chin. With soft words, the thief's fortune turns and they leave, confused with a small bag of gold coins in their hand. It is far more than needed to make ends meet.
So was the land, rule, dominion, and domain of Judas. No more.
Once the patron of merchants, commerce, luck, and fortune, Judas is now the fallen god of the pantheon. Once beloved of his people, Judas became consumed by an otherworldly force and waged war upon the rest of the Dremoran continent. When the City of Fortune fell under siege by the rest of the pantheon, Judas – tether of The Void Made Manifest – was slain by his own High Priestess, Dysis, in order to bind away The Void, outplay The One, and ensure the survival of the continent for some time more.

They are one of the few traces of the fallen god of gold that remain.

Tenets of Faith
Luck May Turn – The fortunes of one day may not carry over to the next. Luck is a fickle mistress. Take care to note the misfortunate and those who have fallen upon ill luck. Take it upon yourself to be the brief flash of good luck and good fortune that graces their day. For the glitter of gold compares little to a helping hand when another is down on their knees. Followers of Judas should strive to help the downtrodden and misfortunate. For who knows, luck is fickle... that may be you one day.
