​He is one of the miners in Helgafel and the first to find Blue Ice in the mines. While generally a kind manat heart, he comes aross as aggressive and vulger as he is too forthcoming. He is enjoys a game of cards and drink after his work is gone. He knows Elvish though noone is quite sure where he would have learned it, and its a secret he seems unwilling to divulge. He intervenes and gets agressive when he or someone else has some injustice visited upon them​
Johann was killed by Kuo-toa at the ruins of Whiteridge.
