Grand Custodian

The Curators are a military faction within the kingdom of Vašira, who's function today is more ceremonial as they guard the greatest treasures the nobility possess, particularly the Tempered Crown.
Despite their use as security for the wealth of royalty, they are capable of fighting and possess a degree of martial prowess. Chosen by other high-ranking military Vaširan officials, the Grand Custodian is the leader of the guard, who oversees their operations and guides their fellow curators.

Qualifications

The title of Grand Custodian can only be bestowed by high-ranking officials in the Vaširan military. In order to be chosen for this significant role, one must display impressive physical ability and martial proficiency with weapons and hand-to-hand combat. It is expected that they have knowledge of military stratagems and history, and display complex problem-solving ability. In many ways, the choosing of the leader of the Curators is akin to choosing a general or commander.
However, the Curators serve only as security for the most historically valuable items. They are a force that is largely ceremonial and most members will have no need for these abilities. Historical custom encourages military leaders to look for these traits in the Grand Custodian, as it is a highly venerated and significant position.

Responsibilities

As the leader of the Curators, the Grand Custodian is responsible for all actions of the organisation and the security of all artifacts under their protection. Should anything happen to any one item, the Grand Custodian will be held accountable and punitive action may be taken against them and any other directly responsible guard beneath them.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Should it be decided that the current Grand Custodian is incapable of performing their role adequately, (which may happen in the case of an incident involving a protected relic), relevant military officials will convene to dismiss the old guard and replace them with a new figure.
