The Curators

The Tempered Crown is one of the single-most iconic artifacts possessed by Vašira. In order to safeguard this important relic, a specific military regiment was formed. Over time, this group has expanded to cover the protection of a whole collection of royal artifacts that are historically and religiously important to the northern kingdom of Vašira.
This unit primarily consists of armed soldiers that stand guard around the well-protected sites where the treasures are stored. They work with local officials to establish guard rosters and patrols, but have ultimate authority from the rulers of Vašira. Few people would argue with the Curators, as their significance and responsibility is well-known and well respected by the general populace. Those who know who they are and what they do are also aware of their authority.
Once every year, high-ranking military officials of Vašira will convene to discuss if the current leader, the Grand Custodian, is performing adequately at their task of guiding and managing the organisation or if a new leader must be chosen from other impressive individuals.

History

After the Pact of Reforging was signed by Queen Vashir following the The War of Ashes, the Tempered Crown was placed into special care by the new rulership of Vašira. Desperate to retain an object of such historical and symbolic significance that was almost lost, they created a new arm of the military who's sole purpose was the oversight and protection of the Tempered Crown.
As the new northern kingdom of Vašira became more established, further relics were added to the collection watched over by the Curators. While the Tempered Crown is their main priority, they are now known for being the military custodians of Vašira's most precious artifacts and treasures.
