Plainér Mines: Foreman's Office

Traversing the space between the two pits, you come across a small wooden building. It's quite small, but it's definitely not a shack; from the pair of guards standing outside, you can assume that someone of some importance lives here. It has a pair of small windows on the side facing towards you, with shutters keeping out the chill wind. The building is also painted a light green, which causes it to blend into the countryside somewhat.   Inside, the office has a sole scribe working at a desk and a door separating this room from the Foreman's actual office. It is sparsely furnished, with only a couple of chairs besides the desk.

Architecture

The building is a simple structure of wood with a stone foundation. It doesn't have any special adornment except for the exterior paint, which is meant to symbolize that the Foreman blends into the background of the mining operation and helps the miners do the same.

History

After the miner's riots in 159 II , the government instituted the office of the Foreman to handle complaints and concerns of the local miners. Due to the need for him to be on-site in case of accidents or emergencies, the imperial government had this building built to house these offices. Ever since, the office has been the seat of the Foreman through thick and thin.   The Drakeslayers visited this office during their time in Plainér Town, and they cleared out the mines below of the dragon that had infested it.
