Serving in the hall is a short woman wearing the white dress and cap of her profession, although a little darkened and dirty from working. As she makes her way around the dining hall, you can see that she is Hayim in origin, and her plump blushing cheeks and slight lurch to her walk indicates that she is comfortable in this environment. You can see the twinkle of something in her ears, but closer inspection reveals these to be a pair of plain wooden earrings.
The maid smiles as she nears you. "Hello there, stranger. Can I interest you in this?" she says, indicating the tray of food she's carrying in her hand.

General Physical Condition

Serin is a woman of Hayim ancestry, judging by her skin colour and her traditional wooden earrings. Her face is lit up with a smile and she wears common servitor's clothes.

She has a slight lurch to the way she walks, as if she were a little tipsy, but this is just due to her lack of good balance.

Serin can usually be found in the common garb of a manor servant: she wears a long white gown that closely fits her body, as well as a white servant's cap and grey trousers. She also has a pair of wooden earrings that are from a secret admirer in town.

Personal history

Serin is a second generation housemaid, with both of her parents having been servants in the houses of Magistrates. She grew up in Domiel, and became indentured to the mage son of a Domian noble. After years dealing with a very demanding master, it was a relief to be scooped up as a replacement for the aging maid of the Fardakers. She's happily worked for them ever since.

She has only ever worked as a maid.

Serin has a fear of heights, as well as a fear of mice and rats.

Intellectual Characteristics

Serin does not have to use her brain very often, as the various chores and tasks that are assigned to her are now muscle memory. When she does, though, she can be a little funny, if a little crude.

She truly lives by the creed of the Hayim Pantheon; "kindness to all is the path into heaven", as she is so fond of saying. The thought of doing anything cruel or disloyal is anathema to her as much as it is to blaspheme Agharna.

Motivation

Serin just wants to be able to settle down with a nice job - like the one she currently holds - and find a nice husband. While she has admirers in town and she has clearly completed the first task, she hasn't put a lot of thought into what she would do once she has both of those things.

She is an expert cleaner, being adept at all manner of dusting, washing, and scrubbing.

Serin is also a good server, with her being the servant often providing food to guests or at meals alongside Paló.

She has a fear of mice and rats, and so avoids going into cellars or dark places.

Her hosts and masters are her family until she gets married, so she cares for them immensely.

Both of her parents died in a plague a couple of years back, and her younger brother is a soldier stationed in Lintin Province.

Religious Views

Serin still holds to the Hayim gods with a fervour, praying daily just before going to sleep for the night. She knows the prayers, as her parents taught her the words when she was young. She can be seen going to the local temple of Alté with her masters, but she doesn't pray to the Four when with them.

Social Aptitude

Serin mostly keeps to herself when on the job, as her profession is meant to be seen and not heard. She will be resistant to conversation, with good manners and attempts to control her lack of balance.
When she goes out, she sheds these inhibitions and becomes significantly more outgoing, loudly making jokes and chatting with strangers. Her manners suffer, obviously, but she doesn't necessarily become boisterous or overly rude.

Hobbies & Pets

She spends her free time at one of the local taverns and brewhouses, trying to meet new people and win admirers.

Otherwise, she rarely has time alone.

Serin has a regular voice, with the occasional booming laugh if she says something funny outside of her job.

Wealth & Financial state

Serin doesn't have a lot of money, as she spends much of it on nights in the town. She also has suffered a reduction in her wage due to being caught sneaking out of the manor to visit a lover, meaning she doesn't go to town as often as she wants. All this being said, she does not want for too much, as she does get room and board from her job.
