The Infamous Feast

Disaster / Destruction

Summer A.D. 495

A grand feast is held in St. Albans, but tragedy strikes when the nobles of Logres are poisoned and Logres descends into anarchy.

A grand feast was held in St. Albans, so large that the nobles of Logres feasted in the keep and bailey while tables were set out throughout the city streets to feast the knights. Our knights feasted well and even Sir Monroe was well enough to join the feast.   During the festivities, Bradwen announced the betrothal of his sister Morwenna to Sir Felix, as well as announcing an extremely generous dowry and dower.   Meanwhile, Sir Monroe noticed expensive barrels of wine being taken to the keep and bailey. He spoke with Sir Cerwin, who was to distracted by a headache brought on by the loud ringing of the church bells to contribute.   Around midnight, screams and howls of pain were heard from the keep and bailey. Sir Bradwen and Sir Felix rushed to the keep. There, they witnessed dead and dying men with bulging eyes and swollen skin crawling over each other and vomiting blood. Bradwen rushed to find Count Roderick while Felix went to look for King Uther. Both found their quarry dead. As chaos descended upon the keep, Monroe surreptitiously looted the corpses of some of the dead nobles and went to escape with their treasure. As he left, Sir Cerwin approached him and thanked him for his help, saying, "I never could have dreamed of accomplishing so much without you," before revealing himself to in fact be Lady Siefe, who then vanished into a corner.   Shocked, but undeterred, Sir Monroe went back to the hospital, where Bradwen had already arrived with the body of Count Roderick seeking aid for his liege. The hospital too was in chaos and Monroe scooped up the body of Sir Brastias and rode off into the night with his captive.
