Envoy to Eburacum

Diplomatic action

Summer A.D. 493

Count Roderick asks our knights to go with him to Eburacum to seek the help of the northern kings, and Sir Monroe makes a dangerous rendezvous. At Eburacum, the knights meet their old rival Saexwulf and learn that the northern kings are planning to make alliance with the Saxons.

Sir Roderick asked our knights to accompany him to Malahaut to seek the assistance of the alliance of northern kings against the Saxons. While Sir Roderick was busy in negotiations with the Centurion King, our knights spent time in the city.   Sir Felix learned that the northern kings were in fact planning on making alliance with the Saxons against Uther and Sir Bradwen encountered their old rival Saexwulf and challenged him to a duel to first blood.   Meanwhile, at the suggestion of Sir Cerwin, Sir Monroe visited Lady Margawse, who was herself in Eburacum with her husband. Lady Margawse and Sir Monroe learned that they both wished the death of King Uther and Lady Margawse had Sir Monroe travel as Lady Maylene to an apothecary in Eburacum to purchase an infamous roman poison for use against Uther. The apothecary was shocked that Maylene wished to purchase the quantity of poison that Margawse had requested, asking if Maylene wished to poison a whole army.   Maylene also purchased some poison for herself to use.   Sir Felix and Sir Bradwen told Count Roderick of what they had learned, and Roderick decided that they would depart in the early morning to warn King Uther.   That night, Sir Bradwen and Saexwulf dueled and Saexwulf made quick work of Bradwen.   On their way back to Logres, the group was ambushed by Saxons, but managed to defeat them.
