Acropolis Station
Acropolis Station, more commonly known the Acropolis, is a space station in orbit around the planet Earth. It is the headquarters of the United Nation Federation, and where its government is located.
Purpose / Function
Acroplois Station is where the actual government of the United Nation Federation is located. Just under one million people live there, with a disproportionate amount being UNF government workers along with some UNF Armed Forces members.
The space station is entirely self-sustaining, containing residential areas, public transportation, spacecraft docking bays, solar farms, food production, waste management, water circulation, and every other business or amenity that would be found in a metropolitan area.
History
As humanity extended their colonization and residence throughout the Solar System, the UNF's sphere of influence started to get stretched thin; in 2020, the nations voted to start their most ambitious construction project yet and build an international capital city on a space station rather than on their dying planet. After a long 12-year project costing the UNF nearly a trillion USD, the Acropolis was completed and immediately put into use. It has been the defacto capital station of Earth for 69 years, since its construction in 2032.
