Eirin

In the heart of the magical and dangerous island of Oileán Fiáin lies the Kingdom of Eirin. As the hub of political power and cultural expression on the island, Eirin is a realm that reflects the diverse heritage and deep connections of the Fir Fáinne, the predominant ethnic group of Oileán Fiáin.

At the heart of Eirin lies Baile Ríoch, the town that serves as the residence of the Ard-Rí of Oileán Fiáin and his court. This town, purposefully built to accommodate the rulers and their retinues, serves as a center for governance, diplomacy, and the administration of justice. The Rí of Eirin, however, keeps his capital in Cruachánáil to signify that he retains some independence from the Baile Ríoch.

Eirin is also home to the High Court of the Fae, also known as the Seelie Court. Ruled by the enigmatic Queen Áine, the Seelie Court is a domain of ethereal beauty and enchantment. The Fairy Queen's name is rarely spoken aloud, for it is believed that uttering it lightly may invite misfortune or displeasure from the Fae.

The Kingdom of Eirin holds a prominent position on Oileán Fiáin as it hosts the High King and his court during their stays on the island. This gathering of noble figures and influential individuals takes place during the Feis, a grand celebration of culture, politics, and supernatural connections. The coronation of the High King is a momentous event that marks the transition of power and reaffirms the unity of the five Fir Fáinne kingdoms under a single elected ruler.
