Session 44 - Abdication

General Summary

The party felt concussions as the foundations of the Black Diamond Resort shook. Warnings rang out through the halls. "Sappers! Kobold sappers! Kobolds are bombing the Undercroft!"
The party rushed down from the Black Diamond and through the rotunda towards Bodega's office in HQ. They wanted to get to the General | Half-orc Merchant before the complex collapsed. The doors to HQ were being assaulted by a fire elemental but were protected by a magic seal. Red attacked the elemental with a summoned tidal wave and S'thom followed with a stream of water from her Decanter of Endless Water. Afterwards, the party was able to easily dispatch the fire beast.
After some diplomacy, the party convinced Wulfhilda | Necromancer to drop her protective spell. They discussed the invasion with Bodega and Wulfhilda and tried to get the General to step up and take command of the situation. Unfortunately, Bodega was a "general" in name only, an avatar created to help market his weapons business. It was clear that he had no idea how to protect a city from a coordinated attack.
As a group, they decided the best course of action would be to help as many civilians as possible take cover in the Undercroft. They gathered a small group of guards on Bulwark Road and fought the kobolds back. They led civilians to the Happy Hobgoblin | Toy Store and through the back rooms to the stairs to the Undercroft.
In a makeshift saferoom that had once been a betting arena, the party discussed their next plans with Bodega and Wulfhilda. Bodega was lost, unsure of how to rebuild his empire. Wulfhilda was certain in her direction: she wanted to recover the Hexabeyance, lost to the beholder, Allseeing.
Wulfhilda admitted that her mentor, Ruteth told her about the Hexabeyance and that there are several groups trying to find them. The important thing to remember is that a person doesn't have to be good or aligned to Bahamut to use the Hexabeyance, they just have to oppose Tiamat.
One of the groups that oppose Tiamat are devils that follow Asmodeus. Wulfhilda revealed that one of the Divine Cordons is Asmodeus' Confederation.
Outside, the team witnessed the arrival of the wyvern riders and Seethe. Seethe had no interest in continuing the attack since the General abdicated. Instead, he expressed his plans for renovations in the area.
The party needs to decide what to do next. Options:

Infiltrate Allseeing's lair and retake Avandra's Lot.

Travel with Wulhilda and Ruteth (destination unknown) to learn more about their patron and other Hexabeyace

Search for Seethe's lair

Search for Lat'num Leng | Githzerai Artificer (or his soul?)

Search for Zeitundraum

Go to one of the other places discussed with Orion Dragovic | Undercover Resistance Operative
