Ofanim

The Daughters of Verity train a small number of Sisters as a motorcycle corps, utilizing them for scouting, hit-and-run attacks and patrol of the 'Dust Zone. Armed with melta weapons, they are used for flanking attacks against rearguard enemy armor. Because of the demanding nature of their missions and required independence of action, only experienced professed Sisters serve in the motorcycle corps and they more-frequently receive military decorations than many other Sisters, leading a disproportionate number of them to achieve the Celestian designation.
Members of the motorcycle corps are referred to as Ofanim, named after a "wheeled" celestial creature mentioned in a pre-Unity mythological text (which is also the source for the name Seraphim).
