The Artene Syndicate

The Artene Syndicate (often referred to simple as The Syndicate, or The Artenes) is a global criminal organization that is headquartered in the depths of Marhaven. A large enterprise with numerous illicit interests, the Syndicate is most notable for its acquisition and illegal trade of powerful artifacts, exotic goods, illicit substances, and occasionally monstrous animals. The Artene Syndicate also prides itself on knowledge, and buys and sells the immaterial commodity with great volume. It is rumored that the Syndicate is behind many a Lord and Ladies' rise to power, often in exchange for a seat among their council.
The Syndicate, while most active in The Realm, has a presence in most other continents (with the exception of Dhomhain).
The Organization gets its name from its founder, the legendary human rogue Lucien Artene.
