Ilthániel Waterquest
As the first granddaughter of the sea god of Dinalagos, there were many expectations places upon Ilthániel's shoulders. Unlike her dutiful father, however, the wanderlust of her ancestors called her to the further reaches of the sea than this tiny island could touch.
After she was grown, a century passed before she worked up the courage to take her leap. In the dead of night, she left a note for her father (her mother was long passed by then) that she was going on an adventure and didn't know when she would be home, and stole a small boat to head off into the night.
She sailed the seas for decades after that, all over the world, before ending up on the other side of it on the northern islands of Vanaheim. For being half a world away, these islands of Greenfolk felt homey and familiar in a way she didn't expect.
She spent some time on the Isle of Thurindir especially, having a short but exciting fling with a druid there. Some months after setting back out to sea, she realized she was with child, and thought she had better get back home.
She didn't quite make it that far, however, ending up on the Warm Shore heavily pregnant, and not wanting to risk being alone at sea when the time came. She made her way inland to the village of Thiad, where she had her child under the care of the madam there, and made a number of friends that she would count as close ones for the rest of her life.
But Thiad was a small village rather dedicated to one sort of trade, which was not her trade. She decided to travel inland to the capitol, to raise her daughter, at least for a time, in a place a touch more expansive than the tiny island where she was born. When her daughter was grown, she decided the time had come to return to the seas, and set out again.
