Arcanist
Arcanist is a blanket term for any who study the use of arcane magic, regardless of their actual ability to cast spells.
The origin of the term seems to have come from the name of an empire of the past called Archai. Those who studied the lost civilization were called Archanists which eventually morphed into the word Arcanist.
