Elven Faith

The Elven Faith worships 3 main deities, reffered to as the Milael (meaning grand spirit), and numerous minor deities referred to as Laels (meaning spirits). The three Milael each correspond to one type of elf.   Raha-Milael is the goddess of darkness and sorrow and was greatly revered by the dark elves of Jarakarak. Raha-Milael is portrayed as an Elven maiden with skin of black bark and a crown of dark green leaves. Most effigies show her solemn and in tears.   Laha-Milael is the goddess of light and happiness and is considered the mother of the wood elves. Laha-Milael is portrayed as and Elven woman with skin of brown bark and a crown of evertree needles. Most effigies show her with a face of joy and mirth.   Jaha- Milael is the god of magic and justice and is revered and closely followed by the high elves of the southern forests. Jaha-Milael is portrayed as an Elven warrior with skin of white bark in helmless plate armour holding a silver longsword point first into the ground before him; upon his head is a crown of light green leaves. Most effigies show him with a grim expression and are carved so that he looks upon his worshippers.

Mythology & Lore

The teachers of the Elven Faith say that in the dawn of time, the Laels existed on their own plane, called the Wildlands. In those days, there were few creatures that roamed the earth, but the most versatile among them was the race of men. It is said that, in those earliest of days, the Milael came down and bred with men to give rise to the race of Elves. Each of the Milael brought forth many thousands of Laels for their children to use. These Laels took the form of trees.
