Oskarn Prison

Purpose / Function

Oskarn is the maximum security prison for the nation of Lokain.  It has housed major threats and political prisoners ever since it was built in 3389 to keep Elven prisoners captured during the Laharin conquering of the Plain of Midr.  It is said they held these Elves for some centuries before their release or death.

Architecture

The Prison was built in old-Lokish fashion, featuring many pillars and arches.  Although the nearby Shiildaen Forest had plenty of good lumber, it was built out of stone.  Much of the prison is located in the cliffside by the town.  These winding tunnels serve a function to confuse the prisoners and prevent most divination means of mapping it.  Many of the cells are lead-lined or affected by permanent magics.
