Family names

Tabaxi last names are not usually passed on from parent to child. When a Tabaxi returns to their tribe with tales of adventure, their tribe gives them a name that they attach to their first name. Sometimes these names are related to the adventures, other times they are not.  If the Tabaxi goes on more than one journey, they might end up with more than one last name.   Lemaro

Culture

Common Etiquette rules

Personal Property is not overly important to Tabaxi.  This often gets them into trouble when travelling in the lands of humans.

Common Dress code

Short trousers for both genders and tunics, predominantly made of leathers. These clothes are usually not fully covering and many males wear no top at all.

Art & Architecture

Druids grow houses in the tall canopies of the mighty forests of the East. They wander frequently, so these are all over the place.  The older Tabaxi and those who's professions rely heavily on staying in one location.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The Tabaxi believe that when a creature dies, it returns to the Silver Sea to wait for a time before the substance of its soul is drawn into a new life as a plant, animal, or other creature.   After a successful hunt, a Tabaxi will pray that the spirit of the animal will find a fitting form to live its next life in.

Coming of Age Rites

Before a Tabaxi can acquire a last name, they must go on a long journey and return with tales of their adventures.

Funerary and Memorial customs

When a Tabaxi dies, they are brought to one of the Druids, who takes the body to the Tree of the Ancients where they can be buried.

Common Myths and Legends

The First Ones, a group of abnormally powerful Tabaxi Druids grew the Tree of the Ancients.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Young females are tested at an early age to see if they have the aptitude to become druids.  The eldest of a tribe's druids is the Mother of the tribe and is the spiritual leader of the tribe.  Most Tribe Mothers are regarded as the ultimate authority of the tribe, but there have been cases of them only serving as advisors to the true leader.  Every few years, all of the Tribe Mothers meet at the Tree of the Ancients to discuss what has gone on with each of the tribes and to plan their routes to ensure there is enough games for each tribe to survive.   Tabaxi males are trained in the arts of Ki manipulation and the use of their body as a weapon.  The few truly master these techniques are chief among a tribe's warriors.

Courtship Ideals

Most Tabaxi won't consider taking a mate until they have gone on at least one adventure.

Relationship Ideals

After a pair is mated, they are expected to go on adventures together, instead of alone.
