House of Stars' Reflection
House Eladel is the Royal House of Raen'dor; the head of this House is not only the ruler of the city of Eiderloch, but the ruler of all the realms. While the lords of the other High Houses govern their own territories and advise the monarch as part of their Council, it is House Eladel that breaks any ties and House Eladel that has the final say. The ruler of this House is also a public figurehead because of this; the current monarchy was formed after the defeat of the Undying King, and the monarch has since been the a symbol of peace to folk across the realms.
House Eladel has been the Royal House since the death of the hero and first Queen of Raen’dor, Imogen Duhem; Duhem was universally accepted as queen, but neither produced nor named an heir before her death. Since rising to power in the wake of Duhem's death, House Eladel has historically been one of the oldest and most powerful houses in Eiderloch. Despite the power this House wields and the respect it commands, other Houses have not always seen them as rightful rulers of the realms; some would argue that it was not an Eladel that the realm agreed to put on the throne, and for that reason an Eladel should not hold the power of monarchy. Still, the House has historically liked and well respected by most, despite those historical doubts as to their legitimacy. Queen Aemelia was forced to ascend at a young age; mother (Alysse) died during childbirth, and much more recently father (Damon, who never remarried) died of a sudden illness.
House Eladel's crest is a single white star in a black sky, reflected in blue.
